Dear Keeper of History,

Sunday, March 1, we’re taking you to the forests and hills around Groesbeek and Mook. During this 23 km trail run, we’ll move through a historic landscape where the events of September 1944 are still clearly visible. This run is partly a Recon Run, exploring the final section of the long stage of the Liberation Trail.

This area is closely connected to the story of the 82nd Airborne Division during Operation Market Garden. Along the way, we’ll briefly pause to reflect on the history of this unique region.

🇬🇧 Liberation Trail on Tour – Groesbeek
📅 Sunday, March 1
⏰ 10:00 AM (gathering from 09:45 AM)
📍 Bikepark & MTB Route Mook, Groesbeekseweg 32, 6585 KE Mook
🏃‍♂️ 23 km Trail Run (was 22 km, we added one more free km to the course)

The route
You’ll run using GPS or simply follow the runner in front of you 😜 There will be no route markings. This is a social run, so we stay together as much as possible.

Aid and supplies
There will be no aid stations along the route. Please bring enough food, water, or sports drink from home. During the run, you’ll have the opportunity to try energy bites and energy shots from our partner Kalkman Good Energy. After the run, a drink and a small snack will be waiting for you, so we can hang out and talk about the recon and the Liberation Trail.

The weather
Early forecasts suggest cool early-spring conditions. Dress accordingly and be prepared for changing weather.

See you Sunday!
Mark, Herco and Rene
