News Update: Explorations and New Route for the Liberation Trail 2025
Exciting developments for the Liberation Trail 2025! During recent recons, we’ve officially mapped out the prologue starting from the iconic Pointe du Hoc, a breathtaking location where history and nature converge. This marks a unique beginning to our trail, honoring the bravery and sacrifices of D-Day.
The first official stage has been completely redesigned to provide an unforgettable experience on the Cotentin Peninsula. The route takes you from Sainte-Mère-Église, through Utah Beach, and finishes amidst the stunning bocage landscape in Carentan. This stage not only reflects the rich history of the area but also offers challenging and varied terrain for the runners.
In addition, we’ve reshuffled the first three stages to create an even more immersive experience:
- Prologue: Pointe du Hoc.
- 1st Stage: Sainte-Mère-Église – Utah Beach – Carentan.
- 2nd Stage: Sword Beach – via the D-Day beaches, cliffs, and Arromanches – Omaha Beach.
This new setup lets you discover the geography and history of D-Day in an entirely fresh way, while enjoying an epic trail running adventure.
