From Sainte-Mère-Église to Utah Beach, through the flooded swamps and on to Carentan.

A long, hot and intense day, but everyone made it safely to the finish. Tired legs, big smiles and unforgettable memories.

Today we followed the footsteps of the paratroopers of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. On D-Day, many landed in these very swamps while securing the routes inland from Utah Beach. Their courage helped pave the way for the liberation of Europe.
